ABSTRACT
Our world is becoming more and more connected. Public Wi-Fi networks are widely available in public places like parks, malls, hotels, cafeterias & Restaurants. There are numerous risks to personal cyber security. They provide easy internet access and also expose users to serious cyber risks like data theft and unauthorized tracking. This research paper analyzes the legal issues tied to public Wi-Fi networks, and explores the hidden risks users encounter when connecting to these public networks, including malware distribution, surveillance, and attacks known as man in the middle. Also looks at the potential dangers of utilizing public Wi-Fi and offers workable cyber security recommendations for protecting mobile devices. It also looks at doable standards for cyber security along with measures, like turning on firewalls and using virtual private networks (VPNs), which can help reduce these risks. There is an emphasis on the possible consequences of cyber security breaches. It focuses on the gaps in current cyber laws regarding user privacy, provider liability, and criminal investigation. Finally, the paper offers practical solutions to strengthen legal frameworks and protect internet users.
