Blockchain and NFTs for Documenting and Safeguarding Folklore and Oral Traditions

ABSTRACT
Blockchain and NTFs provide unalterable and decentralized technical tools for recording and protecting Folklore and Oral Traditions. This article focuses on the technological potential of Blockchain based intangible cultural heritage recording schemes, and analyzes the government blocking risks faced by off-chain access points. According to the research, although blockchain technology could protect the integrity of on-chain data, the off- chain access points such as NFTs trading platform may still be blocked according to the law. So this article proposes the establishment of a legally resilient system for documenting intangible cultural heritage.
