The Corporate Playbook: Career Strategies was an interactive career-oriented session conducted by Mr. Dhruv Jategaonkar, Associate at DSK Legal, Pune, aimed at introducing law students to the practical realities and career prospects within the corporate legal ecosystem.

The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of career opportunities in corporate law, outlining key practice areas and entry-level roles available to young professionals. A focused discussion was held on Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), covering transaction structuring, due diligence, deal documentation, regulatory approvals, and post-transaction integration. Participants were also introduced to Private Equity practice, including fund structuring, investment transactions, shareholder agreements, exit mechanisms, and compliance considerations.

An important segment of the session compared corporate law firms and litigation chambers, highlighting differences in work culture, skill requirements, client interaction, timelines, compensation structures, and long-term career growth. This comparison enabled students to make informed decisions based on their interests, aptitude, and professional goals.

The workshop further served as a practical law school guide, offering advice on building a strong academic and professional profile through internships, research, drafting skills, networking, and strategic career planning. Emphasis was placed on developing commercial awareness, adaptability, and professionalism from an early stage.
