DR. KAVITA SHARMA

Dr. Kavita Sharma is an assistant professor of law at Symbiosis Law School, Symbiosis University, Nagpur, specializing in intellectual property law, artificial intelligence, and healthcare regulation. She holds a Ph.D. from the Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law, IIT Kharagpur, where her doctoral research examined the IP and regulatory dimensions of AI in healthcare, and an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Laws from the same institution.

Her scholarly work includes a co-authored book on artificial intelligence in healthcare (Springer, 2024), a chapter in an Elsevier Academic Press volume on quantum computing in healthcare (2025), and articles in peer-reviewed journals, including the Biotechnology Law Report. She has presented at international conferences in Singapore and India and on online platforms and has contributed comments to WIPO's consultation on AI and intellectual property policy.

Before joining Symbiosis, Dr. Sharma taught at Amity Law School, Amity University, Noida, and S.S. Jain Subodh Law College, Jaipur. She is enrolled as an advocate with the Bar Council of Assam and serves as a peer reviewer for journals, including the Journal of Intellectual Property Rights. Her work is indexed on Scopus, ORCID, and VIDWAN.
