Vintage Legal – Work Ethics

  1. Organisational Structure: Vintage Legal follows a structured hierarchy comprising editorial members, members of the editorial board, and internship coordinators, and all interns are required to respect this structure and communicate through the designated supervisory channels.

  2. Professional Communication: All interns must maintain respectful, formal, and professional communication with supervisors, editorial members, and internship coordinators at all times, and any form of inappropriate, informal, or disrespectful behaviour is strictly prohibited.

  3. Respect for Assigned Work: Interns are expected to treat all allotted tasks with seriousness, diligence, and accountability and must complete the work strictly in accordance with the guidelines and expectations communicated by the organisation.

  4. Respect for Reviews and Feedback: Editorial reviews and feedback are provided solely for academic and professional improvement, and interns are required to acknowledge, accept, and incorporate such feedback in good faith.

  5. Timely Completion of Tasks: Adherence to prescribed deadlines is a core ethical requirement, and interns must manage their time responsibly to ensure timely submission of all assigned work.

  6. Extension and Delay Requests: Requests for extensions or delays should not be made casually or repeatedly and will be considered only in genuine and exceptional circumstances, subject to the discretion of the internship coordinators.

  7. Guidance and Clarifications: Internship coordinators are responsible for facilitating reasonable guidance and clarifications to enable interns to complete their tasks properly, while interns are expected to demonstrate independent effort and accountability.

  8. Conflict Resolution: Any disagreements, misunderstandings, or concerns must be resolved amicably and through official communication channels, and public disputes or unprofessional escalation will not be tolerated.

  9. Integrity and Accountability: Interns must uphold integrity, honesty, punctuality, and accountability in all work and must not misrepresent their work or treat assigned responsibilities casually.

  10. Consequences of Non-Compliance: Failure to adhere to these work ethics may result in appropriate action, including adverse performance evaluation, non-issuance of certificates, or discontinuation from the internship programme.
